Italian journalism honors the legacies of Gennaro Romano and Santi Trimboli

The Italian journalistic community reflects on the legacies of two prominent regional reporters.

Gennaro Romano, a long-time chronicler for the publication Il Golfo, has passed away. Romano was noted for his deep connection to the Ischia territory and his ability to document the political and social transformations of the area. Working alongside founder Domenico Di Meglio, he was recognized for his constant presence and dedication to local reporting in Forio.

Meanwhile, the first anniversary of the death of Santi Trimboli is being observed. A veteran journalist for Rai Calabria, Trimboli also held roles at Giornale di Calabria, Corriere dello Sport, and La Stampa. He was widely respected for his commitment to factual truth and his professional philosophy of maintaining strict respect for the reader and separating personal fandom from journalistic reporting.
