Italian left groups Riscossa Democratica and Rinascita launch new initiatives

A new political platform called Riscossa Democratica was announced in Civitavecchia, aiming to create a participatory space that links municipal politics with civil society, culture, labour and volunteering. The group members describe themselves as left‑wing supporters of the Democratic Party who want to broaden dialogue beyond party structures.

In Vibo Valentia, the historic communist‑aligned magazine Rinascita was revived with a launch event that gathered politicians, local officials and citizens. Former regional councilor Luigi Tassone highlighted the project as a forum for left‑wing ideas, urging parties to reconnect with territories and develop long‑term policy proposals.

Both initiatives seek to reinvigorate left‑wing discourse in Italy by fostering public debate and community involvement.
