Italian legalità initiatives draw businesses and youth in Bari and Modena
On May 10, the 13th edition of “Legalità, ci piace!” was held in Bari, organized by Confcommerciо Bari‑BAT and linked to a national event in Rome. Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi highlighted the link between urban safety, economic competitiveness and illegal activities, citing a study that estimates €41 billion in costs to commerce and 284,000 jobs at risk. He called for stronger cooperation among prefects, police, businesses and local communities to combat counter‑feiting, theft, cyber‑crime and other micro‑criminality.
From May 6‑9, Modena hosted the first Festival della Legalità, attracting more than 1,500 school‑age girls and boys and a total audience of over 3,500. The festival aimed to introduce the theme of legality to young people and foster a culture of respect for the rule of law.
