Italian libraries enhance digital access and collections

The Centro Studi Americani in Rome has renovated its library facilities and integrated its archives into an online catalog. The updated physical space includes a frescoed hall equipped with Wi-Fi, computers, and scanners to facilitate the transition from physical volumes to digital reproductions. The digital upgrade utilizes WorldCat Discovery and WorldShare Management Services through OCLC, allowing users to search both library holdings and archival descriptions in a single query.

In Cagliari, the Biblioteca Emilio Lussu, part of the Monte Claro Library System, has announced new acquisitions for its collection. The updated catalog includes various media such as books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs. The system also provides access to digital resources including eBooks, music, and language courses through the ReteINDACO platform.
