Italian libraries launch new community and nocturnal service initiatives

Several Italian municipalities are introducing new community initiatives through their public libraries. In Bra, the Giovanni Arpino Library, in collaboration with Asl CN2, is launching a free walking group starting October 27. The initiative aims to promote physical activity and social connection, with sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday morning for approximately 40 to 50 minutes.

In Bologna, the Salaborsa Library is extending its operating hours as part of the ‘Bologna di Notte’ initiative. Starting October 21 and continuing through May 2027, the library will remain open until midnight every Wednesday. This expansion aims to increase cultural accessibility and provide safe public spaces for study and social interaction during nighttime hours.
