Italian service clubs hold leadership handovers and community initiatives

The Rotary Club of Brindisi "Valesio" held its annual leadership ceremony on 4 July 2026, with President Laura De Siati passing the club’s insignia to incoming president Massimo Roma. The outgoing president highlighted recent service projects, including a Heart‑to‑Heart grant in Uganda, a blood‑donation programme in a local middle school, an ambulance fund‑raising effort for a hospital in Ukraine, and youth training on artificial‑intelligence topics.

The Lions Club Viarigi – Terre del Ruchè e del Malvasia, founded in 2025, conducted its first handover, appointing Massimo Chiara as the new president and welcoming new member Chiara Cacciabue.

In Tirano, the Lions Youth Camp entered its 31st edition, welcoming participants from Austria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, and Hungary. The camp, supported by Lions clubs in Sondrio and Milan, provided cultural exchange and citizenship‑building activities.

The Lions Club Sciacca Host installed Dr Vera Ruffo as president, launching the "Viva Sofia – Two Hands for Life" programme to teach first‑aid and CPR skills to adults and children across several beach venues.

Finally, Simona Villani concluded her one‑year term as past president of the Lions Club Perugia AILD “Aldo Villani”, reflecting on the club’s service activities and thanking members for their support.
