Italian literary events scheduled in Ferrara and Alberobello

Italy is hosting several significant literary events this October. In Ferrara, Palazzo Roverella will host the third edition of ‘Omaggio alla Poesia: per Giorgio Bassani e Roberto Pazzi’ on October 7. This event, organized by the Giorgio Bassani Foundation and the Roberto Pazzi Study Center, features readings by contemporary poets including Maurizio Cucchi, Isabella Leardini, and Fabrizio Lombardo, alongside scholarly discussions regarding the works of Bassani and Pazzi.

In Alberobello, the five finalists for the 2026 Premio Strega will hold a meeting at the Giovanni Galiani Cultural Center on October 9. The event features authors Giuseppe Antonelli, Miguel Gotor, Tonia Mastrobuoni, and Beatrice Mautino. This gathering is part of Alberobello’s broader cultural initiatives as a UNESCO site and a designated cultural capital of the Puglia region, preceding the final award ceremony in Rome on November 18.
