Health experts advise managing post-vacation transitions
Health experts are providing guidance on managing the physical and psychological transitions associated with returning to routine after summer vacations.
Psychologists and medical professionals note that ‘post-vacation syndrome’—characterized by fatigue, irritability, anxiety, and lack of motivation—is a common adaptive response to sudden changes in rhythm. Experts suggest maintaining social activities and implementing gradual transitions to mitigate mental overload.
Regarding physical health, gastroenterologists advise against rapid ‘detox’ diets to address digestive issues like bloating or constipation. Instead, they recommend restoring regular eating schedules, adequate hydration, and consistent movement to help the digestive system regain its natural rhythm.
Cardiologists also warn against an abrupt return to intense physical exercise. To avoid risks such as arrhythmias or ischemic heart disease, individuals should adopt a progressive training approach, monitor heart rate, and exercise during cooler hours of the day to avoid heat-related complications.
