Italian literature highlights stories of resilience and new beginnings

Two new books are being highlighted in the Italian literary landscape, focusing on personal resilience and life transitions.

Lorenzo Zucchi’s novel, ‘Storia di tutti i miei colpi’, follows the story of Marina, a woman who moves from Milan to Rome for a temporary assignment. The narrative explores themes of identity, ambition, and solitude through the experiences of four different women navigating new beginnings and personal challenges.

Monica Oriente has released ‘Quattro volte me – Le mie rinascite dopo il cancro’ (Edizioni Piemme). Featuring an introduction by virologist Matteo Bassetti, the memoir chronicles Oriente’s journey of overcoming cancer on four separate occasions, including a stage IV Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis and breast cancer. Rather than focusing solely on survival, the book emphasizes her process of reclaiming her life after each medical battle.
