Italian man arrested for killing Albanian national in Cesena

An Italian man, aged 29, has confessed to the murder of 31-year-old Albanian national Denaldo Maxhallak in the province of Cesena, Italy. Maxhallak, a sanitation worker residing in Gatteo a Mare, had been missing since October 7.

Authorities discovered Maxhallak’s body on October 28 at the bottom of a well in the Longiano area. Investigators believe the killing occurred following a dispute at the suspect's residence. Preliminary findings suggest the motive was related to a debt of approximately 500 euros linked to drug supplies.

The suspect reportedly claimed he lost control during the conflict and felt threatened, stating, “I was afraid for myself and my family, I felt threatened.” To conceal the crime, the suspect is accused of shooting the victim, disposing of the body in the well, and setting fire to the victim's vehicle near the Rubicone river to destroy evidence.

The suspect is currently held by the Carabinieri in Savignano and is expected to be transferred to Forlì prison pending a hearing.
