Italian Mayors Demand Action from Plures Alia over Taric Waste Service

The mayors of Campi Bisenzio, Carmignano and Poggio a Caiano – three municipalities in the Tuscan region – have jointly criticised the waste‑management firm Plures Alia over its Taric service. Despite achieving recycling rates above 80%, the towns report a deterioration in waste collection and rising tariffs, with no economic benefit for residents.

The three mayors, representing different political parties, voted against Plures Alia’s budget and have formally requested an urgent meeting and a working table with the company’s management. They call for a new industrial plan that stabilises fees, improves service quality, invests in human capital and prioritises citizen needs over cost‑cutting, after receiving only a technical response to their earlier request for dialogue.
