Italian military units hold leadership change ceremonies

Several Italian military units conducted leadership change ceremonies on August 31, 2026.

In Livorno, at the Vannucci barracks, Lieutenant Colonel Mirko Antonio De Mitri handed command of the 184° Paratrooper Tactical Support Command Unit ‘Nembo’ to Lieutenant Colonel Fortunato Pace. The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Dario Paduano, commander of the ‘Folgore’ Paratrooper Brigade. During his two-year tenure, De Mitri oversaw organizational evolution and the digitalization of Army processes.

In Gorizia, at the Montesanto barracks, Lieutenant Colonel Maria Priori assumed command of the 28° ‘Cavalleggeri di Treviso’ Tactical Support and Command Unit, succeeding Lieutenant Colonel Vincenzo Allocca. The unit is part of the ‘Pozzuolo del Friuli’ Cavalry Brigade. The ceremony included local officials, such as the Mayor of Gorizia, Rodolfo Ziberna, and representatives from various military and combatant associations.
