The Italian government will advance €1.67 billion of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funds to farmers, delivering payments up to 80 days before the EU deadline and roughly ten months earlier than in previous years. The advance covers up to 75 % of first‑pillar CAP contributions and up to 85 % of rural‑development measures, providing liquidity to farms facing rising production costs, climate‑related challenges and geopolitical uncertainty.

Regional allocations total €48.165 million for Campania, more than €40 million for Basilicata (to be paid by 30 July), €49.196 million for Lazio, €121.9 million for Sicily, €93.25 million for Piedmont and similar amounts for other regions. The programme was announced by Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, who highlighted the role of the reorganised agency Agea and its director Fabio Vitale in speeding up the process. The government claims this is the largest investment in agriculture in the history of the Italian Republic, aiming to avoid delayed payments that previously forced farmers to incur bank debt and to protect consumer prices.
