Italian Ministry of Culture denies funding for Rita De Crescenzo docuseries
The Italian Ministry of Culture has issued a clarification regarding the rumored docuseries ‘Svergognata’ about TikToker Rita De Crescenzo. The Ministry stated that the production has not submitted any requests for public funding, tax credits, or other economic support, and no evaluations have been initiated.
Netflix Italia has also officially denied any involvement in the project, following social media backlash and threats from users to cancel subscriptions. While De Crescenzo’s staff initially dismissed rumors of a Netflix project as an AI-generated prank, the influencer herself has since claimed that the project exists and will be released on a major platform.
Newer reports suggest the docuseries may be in post-production with a budget exceeding 1 million euros. Information from catering invoices and journalist Gabriele Parpiglia indicates that the project might actually be destined for Amazon Prime Video rather than Netflix.
