Italian Ministry of Health warns of health card phishing scam
The Italian Ministry of Health has issued an alert regarding a phishing campaign targeting citizens through fraudulent emails. These messages falsely claim to be from the Ministry and instruct users to renew their health cards by clicking on a provided link.
The fraudulent link directs users to a fake website designed to mimic official institutional platforms. Once on the site, users are prompted to fill out forms containing sensitive personal data. The Ministry warns that this information may be used for illegal activities, including document cloning, the resale of personal information, and other forms of fraud.
To prevent falling victim to the scam, the Ministry advises citizens not to click on links in suspicious emails, to avoid providing personal data through non-institutional online forms, and to delete such messages immediately. Official requests will only be made through authorized institutional channels.
