Italian Ministry of Tourism to host event at Temple of Venus

The Italian Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) has announced the event ‘Perché il turismo è’ (Why tourism is), scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 AM. The gathering will take place at the Temple of Venus within the Colosseum Archaeological Park in Rome.

Originally planned for September 27 to coincide with World Tourism Day, the event was postponed as a mark of respect following the passing of Andrea Moretti. To build momentum, the Ministry has launched a countdown campaign highlighting the sector's cross-cutting nature and its strategic role in the Italian economy, specifically regarding job creation, cultural valorization, and national competitiveness.

The event aims to facilitate discussion on the future of tourism and its potential to drive economic, social, and territorial development for the nation.
