Italian mobility associations urge corporate fleet tax reform

Italian fleet and mobility associations, including Best Mobility and A.I.A.G.A., are advocating for a comprehensive reform of the taxation system applied to corporate vehicle fleets. The associations have expressed support for a proposal submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Presidency of the Council by ANFIA, ANIASA, Motus-E, and UNRAE.

Key objectives of the proposed reform include aligning Italian fiscal practices with European standards, specifically regarding VAT deductibility and cost deductibility. This alignment aims to encourage the renewal of vehicle fleets, which currently account for less than 30% of new registrations in Italy, compared to approximately 60% in the European Union.

Industry representatives are also calling for the taxation of corporate reimbursements for domestic electric vehicle charging to be addressed to better support the energy transition. Advocates argue that a more stable and predictable regulatory framework is essential for long-term investment planning, cost management, and the reduction of automotive emissions through the adoption of newer, cleaner technologies.
