Italian mountain sports: Trofeo Mezzalama 2027 announced and Trail Lago Maggiore concludes

The XXV edition of the Trofeo Mezzalama, a historic glacier marathon, has been officially announced for April 17, 2027. The event, part of 'La Grande Course' circuit, will take place between Breuil-Cervinia and Gressoney-La-Trinité, crossing the Monte Rosa massif at altitudes exceeding 4,000 meters. La Sportiva has joined the event as an official sponsor.

Separately, the sixth edition of the Trail Lago Maggiore concluded with over 600 athletes from 35 nations competing in the Val Grande wilderness area. In the premier WILD 60K race, Saverio Ottolini secured his third victory across different distances. Other winners included Camille Carasena in the women's WILD 60K, Diego Ceroni and Chloe Laisne in the BRAVE 38K, Francesco Guarini and Alice Ambrosi in the SCENIC 24K, and Victor Lab and Chiara Frascati in the SUNSET 13K.
