Italian municipalities address environmental and safety regulations

Various Italian municipalities are implementing or addressing environmental and safety measures. In Amantea, local council members from the ‘Amantea Città Libera’ group have filed a formal inquiry requesting urgent clarification on air quality. Residents have reported persistent odors, smoke, and respiratory irritation in several areas, including Marinella. While ARPACAL recently deployed a mobile monitoring station, the results and technical conclusions have not yet been made public.

In Zambrone, recent microbiological analyses of the sea have confirmed that water quality meets all regulatory standards, with no evidence of fecal contamination. Mayor Corrado Antonio L’Andolina noted that maintaining high water quality is essential for the region's tourism industry.

Meanwhile, the Castellano municipal council has approved new guidelines for the Castellano stream bathing areas, specifically near Porta Cartara. The rules aim to protect the environment and public safety by prohibiting jumping from rocks or bridges, lighting fires, and using unauthorized pollutants or loud sound systems in the area.
