Italian municipalities address infrastructure and telecommunications regulations

In Portico di Caserta, the City Council has unanimously approved a new regulation for the localization, installation, and modification of mobile telephony systems. The regulation aims to balance network coverage needs with the protection of health, the environment, and the landscape. Key measures include a territorial plan for mobile telephony to census existing plants and a permanent observatory for monitoring and public participation. The municipality will also collaborate with Arpac to monitor electromagnetic emissions.

In Sardinia, local administrations from Quartu, Quartucciu, Settimo San Pietro, and Maracalagonis are meeting with Terna and the company Roda to address road damage caused by the Tyrrhenian Link cable installation. The excavations on provincial roads 15 and 17 have sparked significant controversy. The Mayor of Maracalagonis has formally requested the establishment of a parliamentary commission of inquiry. Discussions are currently focused on road safety, asphalt restoration, and optimizing traffic management during construction.
