Italian municipalities advance urban planning processes
Municipalities in Italy are advancing local urban planning processes. In San Marco d’Alunzio, Sicily, the preliminary document for the General Urban Plan (PUG) has been delivered by urban planner Andrea Marçel Pidalà. Mayor Filippo Miracula stated that this represents a concrete step toward renewing the territory's urban planning in accordance with regional laws. The next phase involves initiating the regional strategic environmental assessment (VAS).
In Valledoria, Sardinia, the local administration is working to finalize three urban planning instruments: the Municipal Urban Plan (PUC), the Coastal Plan (PUL), and the detailed plan for the Centro Matrice. While the PUC was approved by the City Council, it is currently undergoing regional verification. The municipality must now adjust documents to meet regional requirements and complete necessary administrative steps before the new regulations can officially take effect.
