Italian municipalities and Sardinia region hold committees on budgets and new territorial strategy

The municipal council of Cormano (Lombardy) convened its permanent commissions on 27 July 2026 to examine the 2025 final accounts and the 2026‑2028 program of the local cultural‑social library network. The session also addressed the general balance of the 2025 budget, the dissolution of the joint secretariat agreement with Parabiago and the creation of a new agreement with the neighbouring town of Pero. The proceedings were streamed live on the municipality’s website.

In Sardinia, regional assessor Giuseppe Meloni presented the iSTARE territorial‑programming strategy to the Regional Council’s third commission on 22 July 2026. The plan seeks to curb depopulation by encouraging residents and businesses to stay or return to the island, and is built around four lines: redesign of territorial planning, thematic projects for essential services and sustainable mobility, extension of programming to the Sulcis‑Iglesiente area, and strengthening local administrative capacity. Approximately €200 million from EU and regional funds has been allocated for the first phase.
