Italian municipalities announce 2026 waste tax reductions

Municipalities in Italy, including Massarosa and Ancona, have opened applications for waste tax (Tari) reductions for the 2026 period, targeting residents facing economic difficulties.

In Massarosa, eligible domestic users can apply for relief based on their 2026 Isee status. Applications must be submitted digitally by October 9, 2026. The municipality has established a digital support service at Piazza Taddei, 1, to assist citizens with the online process. If eligible residents have already overpaid their 2026 Tari, the excess will be credited toward their 2027 tax.

In Ancona, residents can receive discounts of up to 70% depending on their Isee income brackets. Specifically, those with an Isee between €0 and €5,000 qualify for a 70% reduction, while higher brackets receive between 10% and 50%. Applications must be submitted to Ancona Entrate by September 30, 2026, via mail, PEC, or in person.
