Italian municipalities announce major school catering tenders

Italian municipalities are moving forward with significant public tenders for school catering services. In Battipaglia, the administration has finalized a contract worth approximately 773,110 euros for organic and sustainable school meals. The contract was awarded to the RTI Ristonet/Althea consortium, which achieved a score of 96.73 points. The project includes over 283,000 euros allocated for labor costs to ensure staff protection.

In Messina, a new European public tender has been announced for the 2026-2027 school year, covering nursery, primary, and lower secondary schools. The estimated value of this contract is 2,568,000 euros (excluding VAT). The selection process will prioritize technical quality over price, with 80% of the scoring criteria based on service quality, cooking center characteristics, product provenance, and certifications, while the economic offer accounts for only 20% of the total score.
