Italian municipalities approve civic honors and debate security policies

Recipients include Mauro Glorioso, Juri Nervo, Luciano Dematteis, Augusto Grilli, Lorenzo Virgulti, Alessandro Calista, Mario Mazzei, Marco Pugliese of ZanzibarHelp, 4Wheels Skate School, and Stefania Ferrero.

In Tursi, Mayor Silvia Salis confronted centre‑right councilors over recent violent incidents, criticizing the lack of repatriations for irregular migrants and calling for stronger local police presence, enhanced video surveillance, and better coordination with municipal bodies. She rejected accusations of “vulture‑like” behavior and urged the council to adopt an extraordinary security plan.
