Italian municipalities approve cultural infrastructure projects

Municipalities in Italy are advancing local cultural infrastructure projects through targeted funding. In Sora, the city council has unanimously approved a 1.25 million euro project to restore the historic Supercinema. The facility, which has been inactive for twenty years, is intended to become a multifunctional center for theater, cinema, and culture. The operation will be financed via a zero-interest loan through the ‘Cultura Missione Comune 2026’ initiative by the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale (ICSC).

In Bari, the local government has approved an executive project to adapt the outdoor area of the former Moro school in San Pio. The site will serve as an innovation hub for the ‘Accademia del Cinema dei Ragazzi’, featuring an outdoor space capable of hosting up to 1,000 spectators for cinematic, theatrical, or musical performances. The 170,000 euro project, funded by the civic budget, includes upgrading the existing stage, installing motorized equipment, and ensuring accessibility and improved sanitary facilities.
