Italian municipalities expand local police and public staff
Municipalities in Italy are expanding their local workforces to enhance public services and security.
In Carmagnola, Personnel Assessor Simona Bertero announced plans to hire 13 new employees by early 2027. This recruitment effort, which includes six positions for the local police, aims to replace retiring staff and strengthen essential services for citizens rather than merely filling vacancies.
In Reggio Emilia, Mayor Marco Massari introduced 18 new local police officers. This expansion brings the total force from 144 to 171 agents. The increase is part of a broader investment strategy supported by regional funds and ministerial grants, which also includes expanding video surveillance and street tutoring programs.
