Italian municipalities expand student and family support services

Municipalities in Italy are expanding local support services for students and families. In Montemurlo, a free after-school program for middle and high school students is resuming for the new academic year. Funded with 32,000 euros, the initiative is managed by the Alambicchi Onlus social cooperative and aims to combat educational poverty. The program, starting October 1, provides tutoring in small groups and offers subsidized individual home tutoring in subjects such as mathematics, physics, and foreign languages.

In Vado Ligure, the local administration is continuing its investment of nearly 500,000 euros annually into family-oriented services. This includes the ‘Tempo Integrato’ (Integrated Time) service, which provides afternoon care, lunch, and educational activities on days when students do not have scheduled school hours. This service is part of a broader system that includes a nursery, a playroom, and summer camps, designed to help families balance work and life commitments.
