Italian municipalities expand video surveillance networks

Several Italian municipalities are implementing new video surveillance measures to enhance public safety and urban monitoring.

In Avellino, the installation of 78 new cameras has been completed, bringing the city's total to 154 devices. The expansion covers strategic areas including public parks such as Parco Kennedy and Parco Santo Spirito, the municipal villa, and the municipal library. Additionally, new surveillance has been established at key city entrances, major road intersections, and the via Fariello bus station to better manage traffic and territorial control.

Sesto San Giovanni has approved a plan to install new monitoring cameras and advanced license plate recognition systems. With a budget of 142,421 euros, the project aims to combat illegal waste dumping and support local police in enforcing environmental regulations. The installation of these five new monitoring stations is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2026.
