Italian municipalities face service scrutiny and citizen proposals

In Valguarnera, opposition council members are calling for transparency regarding urban hygiene services following investigations by the SRR Enna Provincia and the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC). The SRR has initiated inquiries into street cleaning and washing methods, vehicle usage, and the economic implications for the Financial Economic Plan (PEF). These actions follow an inspection launched by ANAC on September 16.

Meanwhile, in Martina Franca, a citizen-led initiative titled ‘Martina, dicci la tua!’ has submitted a formal document to Mayor Gianfranco Palmisano. Organized by Movimento 5 Stelle representative Vito Legrottaglie, the document compiles community proposals on ten priority areas, including public cleanliness, security, green spaces, parking, and services for youth and families.
