Italian towns initiate extensive road resurfacing and safety upgrades

Municipal authorities across Italy have launched a series of road‑work projects aimed at restoring traffic flow and improving safety. In Campania, officials completed a technical survey of Provincial Road 425 after a landslide and are seeking emergency approval to reopen the Montepertuso‑Nocelle stretch. In Tuscany, Montemurlo finished a comprehensive repaving of Via Casini and nearby streets, while Vigevano will start a three‑phase pavement renewal on Via Cairoli on 15 June. Senigallia’s Via Rodi and Via XX Settembre will be closed for resurfacing from 8 to 20 June, with temporary detours and exemptions for residents and service vehicles. In the province of Ferrara, Copparo will begin a €92 k junction refurbishment at Piazza del Popolo on 9 June, adding traffic‑calming islands and widened sidewalks. Legnano plans €1 m of road and sidewalk works starting 8 June, including resurfacing of Via Firenze and several side streets. Reggio Emilia will reinforce a provincial bridge on the Quaresimo river with a two‑month, €220 k project, imposing alternating one‑way traffic. Vezzano is renovating two sports fields on 8 June, funded partly by regional grants. Spigno Vecchio’s provincial access road reopened on a one‑way basis after a landslide, with speed limits and weight restrictions in place. Finally, Terni approved a €30 m multi‑year road‑maintenance plan covering over 1.6 km² of streets, focusing on major urban arteries. These coordinated efforts aim to reduce traffic disruption, enhance road durability, and boost local mobility.
