Italian municipalities hold ceremonies to honor fallen officers

Various Italian municipalities are holding ceremonies to honor fallen law enforcement officers. In Bassano in Teverina, the city council has approved the naming of an area in via XXV Aprile as ‘Largo Salvo D’Acquisto e Caduti dell’Arma dei Carabinieri’. An official ceremony is scheduled for September 28, featuring the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and a musical performance by the Carabinieri Band.

In Porto Torres, a ceremony will take place on September 24 to mark the 60th anniversary of the death of Salvatore Cabitta. A member of the Guardia di Finanza, Cabitta was killed by terrorists in 1966 while on duty near the border. The event will involve civil and military authorities at the alleyway named in his honor.
