Italian municipalities implement cemetery service updates

In Gravina, local authorities have issued an ordinance to manage cemetery services ahead of the All Saints' Day and Commemoration of the Dead period. To ensure safety and decorum during high-traffic days, non-urgent cemetery operations and maintenance works have been suspended. From October 26 to November 2, the cemetery will maintain continuous opening hours from 8:30 to 17:30. Between October 29 and November 3, private vehicle access will be prohibited within the cemetery area; a circular shuttle service will be provided to assist visitors. Following this period, winter hours will take effect on November 3.

In Pescara, cemetery services are transitioning to a digital format starting October 26. Through the Pescara Multiservice website, citizens can use SPID or Electronic Identity Cards (CIE) to manage various procedures online, including burial, cremation, and transport requests, as well as managing votive lights and tomb concessions. This digital portal will serve both the Colle Madonna and San Silvestro cemeteries, running alongside existing physical service desks to simplify administrative tasks for grieving families.
