Italian municipalities implement new parking regulations

Municipalities in Italy are implementing new parking regulations to improve urban mobility and space rotation.

In Poggibonsi, preparatory operations have begun for a new parking reorganization plan. The initiative aims to optimize existing spaces following a reduction in blue line parking areas. Key changes include the introduction of paid parking in Piazza Berlinguer, where the first 30 minutes will be free of charge for those using a parking meter. Additionally, portions of the former freight yard and Viale Marconi will become ZCS (Limited Traffic Zones) with paid parking from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 20:00. Residents with specific permits will gain expanded access to these areas, and annual subscriptions for second vehicles will see a price reduction from 250 to 150 euros.

In Ventimiglia, new regulations have been introduced at the Eiffel parking lot near the Palasalute facility. To ensure better turnover and accommodate healthcare workers and residents, the outer semi-circle of the parking area will implement a time-limited parking system (disco orario) with a maximum stay of four hours on weekdays from 9:00 to 19:00. The central part of the lot will remain free for unrestricted parking. The ordinance also establishes a one-way traffic flow within the parking area to improve safety and order.
