Italian municipalities implement new traffic and mobility plans

Municipalities in Italy are implementing new traffic and mobility plans to improve urban safety and infrastructure.

In Nocera Inferiore, the local administration has introduced a new traffic plan ahead of the upcoming school year due to ongoing redevelopment works in the city center and near the highway exit. Starting September 10, several gates and intersections, including portions of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Garibaldi, and Via Barbarulo, will face temporary circulation changes, including deactivations and new one-way directions. These measures are part of a larger project to pedestrianize specific areas.

In Bergamo, specifically in the Carnovali district, new works will alter the traffic layout on Via Magrini. The project aims to enhance safety at the intersection with Via Autostrada and strengthen cycling connections between the southwest quadrant, the railway station, and the city center. The plan introduces a one-way system for cars toward Via Autostrada while establishing a two-way cycle lane. Additionally, a pedestrian crossing will be relocated and regulated by a new traffic light system to improve safety.
