Italian municipalities implement pedestrian safety upgrades

Municipalities in Italy are implementing various infrastructure projects to improve pedestrian safety and road visibility.

In Borgo Mantovano, the local administration is investing 120,000 euros to install new sidewalks and raised pedestrian crossings. Works are being completed in Revere, specifically near middle school zones on via Manzoni, via Trento, and via Trieste. Additional improvements include a raised crossing on via Ovara in Villa Poma and sidewalk reconstruction on via Roma Nord.

In the Bertinoro municipality, specifically in the Ospedaletto district, construction has begun on via Cellaimo to install illuminated pedestrian crossings. The project utilizes variable geometry lighting technology to highlight both the asphalt markings and pedestrians through vertical light beams. This initiative aims to address visibility issues at high-traffic intersections and bus stops, integrating LED projectors and backlit signage into the local public lighting network.
