Italy implements various summer safety and noise ordinances

Various Italian municipalities are implementing seasonal ordinances and increased police presence to manage summer crowds and public order.

In Molfetta, Mayor Manuel Flavio Minervini has issued an urgent ordinance banning camping, gazebos, and barbecues in several coastal areas, including Cala Sant'Andrea, from August 13 to 17 to ensure hygiene and public decorum. In the Trapani region, authorities are coordinating increased patrols to combat crime and manage 'malamovida' (nightlife disturbances) during the Ferragosto holiday, with a focus on regulating glass bottle sales and youth movement.

In Modena, local police are conducting checks on summer ordinances, recently sanctioning an establishment for selling alcohol to a minor. These controls also target waste abandonment and traffic violations in nightlife districts. Meanwhile, in Villarosa and Villapriolo, specific ordinances have been adopted to limit musical entertainment until 3:00 AM during patron saint festivals to maintain public peace.

In Cesena, the heatwave has impacted public services, with several neighborhood hubs and the Malatestiana Library operating on reduced summer schedules, leading residents to seek refuge in air-conditioned shopping centers.
