Italian municipalities inaugurate social service centers funded by PNRR
New social service and reception centers have been inaugurated in Scandiano and Varese, supported by funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
In Scandiano, the Unione Tresinaro-Secchia has opened a new 'Stazione di Posta' within the historic Palazzina Lodesani. The project, valued at 510,000 euros, aims to integrate social services into the city center to prevent the ghettoization of social assistance. The facility will provide social services and limited overnight accommodations.
In Varese, a new reception center and poverty relief hub has opened at via Maspero 20. This 1.8 million euro project includes social housing, offices for associations, and seven dormitory apartments providing 40 beds. The initiative is designed to support vulnerable individuals through a gradual transition toward autonomy and reintegration into daily life.
