Italian municipalities launch autumn culinary and truffle festivals
Various culinary festivals are scheduled across Italy to boost regional tourism and celebrate local traditions during the autumn season.
In Gubbio, local authorities are implementing a strategy to revitalize tourism through food-focused events. A festival dedicated to cod and stockfish is set for October 9, 10, and 11, featuring a conference on October 10. This follows previous large-scale sausage festivals aimed at reversing stagnant tourism trends.
In the province of Bologna, the “Tartufesta” calendar has been announced, involving 11 different municipalities to celebrate truffle season. The events will span from October through November, beginning in Lizzano in Belvedere and Monzuno. The series will conclude in Savigno, within the Valsamoggia municipality, with four consecutive weekends of festivities scheduled from October 24 to November 15.
