Italian municipalities launch new managerial recruitment drives

Italian municipalities are initiating new processes to fill key managerial roles. The Municipality of Ancona has announced two separate recruitment procedures aimed at strengthening its administrative structure. One open competition seeks a Director for Information Technology and Digital Transition to modernize services and data security. The second is a reserved internal procedure for the Environment Sector, designed to promote existing staff based on merit and expertise.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Como is attempting to fill a technical director position for territorial programming through external mobility. This follows a failed public competition in November 2025 that concluded without a successful candidate. Unlike the previous open contest, this new approach specifically targets individuals who are already permanent technical directors in other local government administrations, requiring at least three years of experience and specific professional qualifications in fields such as architecture or engineering.
