Italian municipalities launch new parking infrastructure projects
Several Italian municipalities are investing in new parking facilities to address vehicle shortages and improve local safety.
In Caslino d’Erba, a 400,000 euro project will create 26 new parking spaces near the ‘La Curt’ multifunctional center. The works, managed by the Provincial Contracting Station of Como, are expected to last approximately 120 days. Mayor Marco Colombo noted the intervention aims to meet the growing needs of citizens seeking easier access to the town center.
In the Buchignano district of Camaiore, a 315,000 euro project is underway to provide 11 new parking stalls, including one reserved for people with disabilities. The project utilizes permeable interlocking pavers to maintain hydraulic balance and includes LED lighting and stone-clad retaining walls to integrate with the rural landscape. Additionally, a separate 120,000 euro investment has been allocated to secure a 12-meter section of the access road affected by a landslide.
