Italian municipalities launch Universal Civil Service programs
Municipalities in Italy have launched new Universal Civil Service programs involving young volunteers.
In Barrafranca, 12 volunteers have begun their service, focusing on the strategic areas of ‘History, Art and Culture’ and ‘Villas, Parks and Nature’. The program, organized through the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, aims to promote active citizenship and territorial valorization.
In Penne, six volunteers have started their roles. Three participants are assigned to manage municipal museums, while the other three will support administrative functions and municipal services. Local officials noted that the service provides a bridge between training and the professional world, allowing youth to gain experience within public administration.
