Italian municipalities Milazzo and Modica address financial management

In Milazzo, the First Commission has approved the 2025 management report and measures related to the municipality's financial stability. The approved measures include a plan to address a budget deficit and changes to the 2026-2028 financial forecast. These documents are scheduled to be presented to the City Council on August 27.

In Modica, the municipality has approved the appointment of an external supervisor for the financial office to cover the period from August 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026. The €15,860 measure aims to correct accounting inconsistencies following a transition between accounting systems. Local politician Vito D'Antona criticized the decision, noting that the delay in approving a stabilized budget could prolong the town's financial recovery process.
