Italian municipalities offer school book vouchers for students

Municipalities in Italy are offering financial assistance for school book purchases for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In Reggio Calabria, students in middle and high schools can apply for contributions if their family Isee does not exceed 14,365.00 euros. Applications must be submitted via the municipal online platform by September 20. The voucher can be used for book purchases or to request free textbooks through school loan programs. Reimbursements can be claimed at selected bookstores until June 15, 2027.

In Rome, the deadline to apply for book vouchers is September 25. The program is available to students in middle schools, high schools, and vocational training paths (Iefp) with an Isee below 15,493.71 euros. For the 2026-2027 school year, the contribution is set at 230 euros for first-year middle school students and first and third-year high school students, while other classes will receive 175 euros. These funds can cover printed and digital books, dictionaries, recommended literature, and educational tools such as notebooks and tablets. Support for the application process is available through various local associations and municipal offices.
