Italian municipalities update electoral registries and polling stations
Local administrations in Italy are implementing updates to electoral procedures and personnel registries.
In Diano Marina, the municipality has opened applications for the registries of polling station presidents and scrutineers. Applications for presidents must be submitted by October 31, 2026, and require a high school diploma or higher. Applications for scrutineers are due by November 30, 2026. Certain groups, including active military personnel, municipal employees in electoral offices, and election candidates, are ineligible for these roles.
In Monza, the municipal electoral office has proposed a reorganization of the city's electoral sections. The plan involves dividing the territory into 110 sections and updating voter assignments. A key component of the revision is improving accessibility by moving polling stations to ground floors in schools where voting stations were previously located on upper floors. Following updates to voter lists, the total number of assigned voters in Monza is expected to rise to 101,983.
