Italian museums announce 2026-2027 educational programs

Several Italian museums have announced their educational offerings and workshop calendars for the 2026/2027 school year, focusing on engaging younger generations through interactive history and art programs.

In Milan, the Museo dei Quaderni di Scuola has opened reservations for its pedagogical activities. The museum uses historical notebooks as primary sources to teach students about childhood, war, and social evolution. Programs include thematic modules such as ‘War Notebooks’ to explore global conflicts through the eyes of children, and ‘Children Make History’ to examine the changing role of youth from the late 18th century to the present. The museum also offers classroom-based workshops that facilitate exchanges between current students and adults who authored the historical notebooks.

The Museo Civico di Crema e del Cremasco is also renewing its educational proposals for the same period. Its curriculum covers a wide historical range, including Ancient Egypt, the Roman era, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. The program aims to transform museum visits into active experiences for various age groups, from early childhood to middle school, using tools like hieroglyphics, coin minting, and sculpture to connect students with local and global cultural heritage.
