Italian museums host ancient history and archaeology workshops
Various Italian museums are hosting educational activities focused on ancient history and archaeology.
The Museo Civico di Diano Marina is presenting “Storie al Museo,” an immersive program designed to introduce children and families to the archaeological heritage of the ancient Lucus Bormani. The initiative uses epic storytelling involving figures such as Ulysses and Aeneas to connect historical artifacts with Mediterranean mythology, with a specific focus on the goddess Diana and her historical ties to the Diano Gulf.
In Ferrara, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale is organizing a free workshop titled “Mani in pasta con la storia” on August 15. Aimed at children aged six and older, the session allows participants to practice ancient techniques by modeling clay like Etruscan potters and creating jewelry inspired by Etruscan goldsmiths. The event is supported by volunteers from the Gruppo Archeologico Ferrarese.
