Italian museums host summer science outreach events in Rocca di Cave and Duronia

The Sistema Museale Rocca di Cave (SMuRC) will hold two summer events around Ferragosto. On 10 August, visitors can join a guided tour of the Geopaleontological Museum “Ardito Desio” followed by telescope observations of the night sky at the Rocca Astronomical Station. A second program on 16 August features a live planetarium show, “Viaggio nel Sistema Solare”, presented by the outreach group Le Nuvole in collaboration with the municipality.

The Museo Geofisico di Duronia (MUGED) will open its doors on 10‑11 August for free guided tours, interactive labs and activities that explain Earth’s magnetic field. The event is organized by researchers from the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) together with the Comune di Duronia, offering sessions for all ages and highlighting the invisible lines that protect the planet.
