Italian music market grows 7.3% in first half of 2026

The Italian music market grew by 7.3% in the first half of 2026, reaching a total turnover of approximately 225 million euros, according to a report by FIMI.

Streaming remains the dominant force, accounting for 80% of the market. The sector generated 179 million euros from over 52 billion streams, a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth was driven largely by a 9.45% rise in premium plan subscriptions.

Physical media also saw significant movement, with a 12% overall increase. Vinyl sales led this segment with an 18.50% growth, driven by collectors and enthusiasts, while CD sales maintained a steady but more modest role.
