Italian Music Milestones: 50‑Year Radio Arbereshe Celebration and Le Orme 60‑Year Concert
On 22 July 2024, Radio Libera Arbereshe marked its 50th anniversary in San Demetrio Corone, Calabria, with a live event featuring music, memories and tributes to founder Mimmo, the station’s long‑time driving force. The celebration highlighted the radio’s historic role in preserving the Arbëreshë cultural identity and its evolution from a community broadcaster to a commercial music outlet.
Four days later, on 26 July 2024, the progressive‑rock group Le Orme performed at the Museum of Palafitte in Lake Ledro, Trentino, as part of the 19th edition of “Età del Rock”. The free concert commemorated the band’s 60th anniversary, showcasing their classic repertoire and underscoring their status as one of Italy’s most influential rock acts, with a history spanning more than six decades.
Both events reflect a resurgence of interest in Italy’s musical heritage, celebrating long‑standing institutions and artists that have shaped regional and national cultural landscapes.
